September 21: A Behind the Scenes Look at the San Francisco Opera with Kip Cranna Dr. Clifford (Kip) Cranna, Director of Musical Administration at the San Francisco Opera, opens the 2010-2011 SCW season September 21 with a “Behind the Scenes Look at the San Francisco Opera”, its history, role in San Francisco cultural life, and place in the international music world. Like the cat that comes with the house, he seems to know everything and everyone because he has served under every San Francisco Opera general director except the opera’s founder, Gaetano Merola.
